Oh how I love Christmas... The anticipation of it, the decorations, the trip home to Australia (where the weather is a whole lot warmer than Boston), the holiday shopping, my Mum's home-cooked treats but most of all I LOVE wrapping Christmas gifts! For those of you on my Christmas list you know the excitement I feel presenting those carefully wrapped gifts with perfectly presented bows! Something I have never done for the holidays is making my own ornaments. I received an early Christmas gift at the weekend - a box of new goodies to play with from K & Company - among the treats, the brand new Swell Noel Collection. It is so beautiful, all those shades of pink, aqua, mint greens and just the right amount of glitter! This year I decided to buy a small white Christmas tree and I am in the midst of making all the ornaments for it - what fun I am having.
In the image above you can see the first ornament I made (it is resting on the aqua background so you could see the "fluff details in the photo). The ornament is a chipboard one I painted white, glittered and then I added the fluff and then two white velvet poinsettias, a grand adhesion sticker and finished off the center with a chipboard sticker and pearl - how beautiful are those supplies.
Last night I started to make the most adorable snowman from styrofoam balls and I have a glittered snowflake ornament almost complete. How beautiful this tree is going to look and there wasn't a lot of expense involved.
When giving Christmas gifts this year, remember it's not all about how much money you spent on the gift or whether it's handmade, it's the thought that counts. Take a little extra time when wrapping your gifts, not only do you make the gift look special, you make the recipient feel special.
Off to finish my snowman, Lynette
