Our life is a journey filled with special moments, hardships, heartaches, joys, celebrations and lessons. I was reading an article online about the journeys each of us take and the challenges along the way. My journey for 2008 certainly wasn't all smooth sailing but it is now 2009 and I am so grateful for the many special moments I have already had so early on in this new year. I just returned to Boston last week from a 6 week trip home to Australia to see my family and friends for Christmas. I am so grateful that I can spend that time each year at home. As always it was hard leaving my family again especially as the day we left the Gold Coast is was 93 degrees and last week the temperature guage in our car in Boston read -20 degrees!
I was able to once again teach when I was in Australia, I spent a day in Perth and a day in Brisbane teaching trade classes. I get so inspired teaching these classes and am so grateful for the wonderful store owners that take time away from their business to attend these special days. Since returning to Boston I have been working non-stop on CHA projects so unfortunately I can't reveal any of those just yet - but soon. I have also been working on some very special classes that I will post sneak peaks of the minute I have been given the "go ahead" to do so. My journey in the scrapbooking world just continues to amaze me. I feel so lucky to have been given some of the opportunities I have experienced. I know this year is going to be very special and exciting with lots of events happening I will be able to post about soon.
Tomorrow I am off on another journey - CHA. I can't wait, I love catching up with my friends in the industry, seeing all the wonderful new product releases and just soaking it all in. I get so inspired at these events and usually cannot wait to come home and begin creating again. While I was in Australia I picked up some fun new supplies to work with, below you will find a photograph of some of the beautiful fabrics and laces I found as well as a sewing box I am going to "antique".
So as you journey into 2009, remember that even though there will be some heartache and some tough situations, remember most of them will only be temporary, treat them as challenges as they will help determine the path of the rest of your life.
I look forward to sharing lots of creativity with you this year. Lynette
